A Proven System of Therapies

Our comprehensive approach is broad in scope. We offer a host of procedures and treatments to fit your unique needs and preferences and help you recover faster.

  • Chiropractic

Our doctors are skilled to perform pain free realignment of your spinal vertebra. The purpose of “an adjustment” is to restore proper movement to the joints and reduce pressure on the surrounding muscles, discs and nerves. Through a variety of techniques:

    • Hands on manipulation
    • Activator Technique
    • SOT
    • Gonstead
    • Drop Table
    • Flexion/Distraction
    • Webster Breech Technique

Realignment will also help posture, flexibility and restore the natural and proper curves of the spine.

    How We Help »
  • Extremity Adjusting

In addition to spinal joints, the joints in the arms and legs can be aligned too. By using either a low force instrument called an Activator, we can restore proper function to the smaller joints. Adjustments to the hips, feet and shoulders tend to do best with a hands on manual approach.

    How We Help »
  • Ultrasound Therapy

Ultrasound is used for therapy to reduce swelling in an around joints and muscles. By sending a sound wave into the body, inflammation can leave the injured area and be displaced and then absorbed by the body. The sound wave also produces heat through friction that brings healing properties to the area of complaint.

    How We Help »
  • Kineseo Taping

We use a variety of sports and stability taping techniques and work with KT and Rock tape mainly. Taping can provide additional stability to the joints while still allowing movement and the ability to heal. There are taping techniques for posture, injuries, muscle imbalance and healing.

    How We Help »
  • Exercise Therapy

Similar to physical therapy, we offer all types of therapy bands and balls, to be conducted not in the open but in a private therapy room. Exercise is often done with electric stimulation simultaneously (know and Russian Stimulation). Our goal is help strengthen the areas that are getting adjusted then have you continue confidently and safely at home.

    How We Help »
  • Theragun Percussion Therapy

You may see many athletes using this device lately. The Theragun is a percussion type of massage instrument. It “pounds” the muscle comfortably allowing it to stretch and direct healing blood flow to the area. We often use this device with simultaneous stretching to maximize range of motion. It is our latest addition and what a difference we have seen!

    How We Help »
  • Stretching Techniques

Before and after an adjustment, stretching is an integral part of the success of the visit. Quite often we are using PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) which involves contracting the targeting muscle group while stretching and guided breathing to break the “stretch reflex” and allow a deeper muscle elongation.

    How We Help »
  • Mechanical Traction

There are many types of traction techniques. Traction allows for the joints  to gently stretch and the discs in between the vertebrae to “get a chance to breath”. Gravity and general pressure on the spine starts to weigh on the curves of the spine and the individual joint complex and traction can reverse that effect. Here are the 3 most common techniques in our office:

    • Flexion distraction  (COX)
    • Intersegmental Traction
    • Saunders Cervical Traction Unit
    • Manual Traction
    How We Help »
  • Electrical Stimulation

By sending an electrical pulse into the muscles (it doesn’t hurt) we can induce muscle contraction. By speeding up the contraction of a tight muscle, it will “tire out” and relax allowing for a more successful adjustment and instant relief. This will reduce muscle spasms, muscle guarding and even help with muscle atrophy. Sometimes electric stimulation is conducted with exercise to rebuild a weakened or damaged muscle.

    How We Help »
  • Myofascial Release Technique

Hands on MRT is used usually with a gel (Biofreeze) or cream to reduce muscle tightness and trigger points. By applying pressure by hand (sometimes elbow) the doctor can release the “knot” and restore proper function. We also employ Instrument Assisted MRT and substitute hands-on for special metal or plastic devices to accomplish the same goal. Both equally effective, comfortable and long lasting.
